Sigal to Head Enterprise New York Office

Enterprise, a leading nonprofit provider of affordable housing nationwide, has announced that Abby Jo Sigal, currently vice president of Enterprise Community Investment, Inc., has replaced Jim Himes as director of Enterprise's New York office, effective September 10, 2007.

Himes will remain at Enterprise to support a new national innovations initiative that will focus on creating leading-edge programs and conducting product research and development. Himes is transitioning out of his role as director of Enterprise's New York office in order to run for U.S. Congress in Connecticut's fourth district. Himes will continue to be actively involved at Enterprise in his new capacity.

"Abby's experience in community development finance and her extraordinary commitment to helping the city's most vulnerable residents makes her the ideal choice to head Enterprise's New York office," said Rafael Cestero, senior vice president of Enterprise. "We are grateful to Jim for the leadership that he has demonstrated during his tenure as director of Enterprise's New York office - most notably his part in fulfilling our Billion Dollar Promise to New York City and launching the New York City Acquisition Loan Fund - and look forward to his continued work with Enterprise at the national level." added Cestero.

"I take great pride in the work that Enterprise does in working with our partners to develop creative and innovative solutions to solve New York's affordable housing crisis, and especially in the strong and dedicated team of people in the New York office," said Sigal. "I look forward to continuing my work at Enterprise in this expanded capacity."

Sigal has worked in Enterprise's New York office for six years and has extensive experience in community development and real estate finance, including project management, commercial underwriting, Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) analysis and strategic planning. Prior to joining Enterprise in 2001, Sigal worked for Strategic Economics, an urban and regional economics and research firm, and with the Hudson River Park Conservancy to plan and develop the Hudson River Park along Manhattan's West Side waterfront. Sigal holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Yale University.
