Banking and Financial Services: New York area nonprofits have a total of over $4 billion in endowments
or other financial reserves. More than 20% have bank deposits totaling $2 million or more. Another 25% have reserves ranging from $275,000 to $2 million. Area nonprofits are also significant consumers of bank credit, borrowing more than $350 million annually.

Insurance and Employee Benefit Programs: Local nonprofits spend an estimated $75 million annually on various liability insurance premiums and over $2 billion on total employee benefits. More than two-thirds offer employee medical coverage and more than half provide dental insurance.

Real Estate and Facility Services:Nonprofits spend more than $750 million annually on the rental and operation of
