Abbott House has announced the promotion of Shawn Philip Carlson to the position of Director of Program Support services. A veteran of social services, Carlson began his career in 1993 at Westchester ARC before joining the Abbott House staff in 1995 as a direct-care worker in the department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. In 2002 Carlson joined the Abbott House Quality Assurance department as Coordinator of Quality Assurance for Abbott House MRDD and Foster Care programs. Carlson received a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Iona College. “Shawn has functioned very effectively as the Assistant Director of Quality Assurance and has a wealth of experience both in Foster Care and OMRDD,” said Abbott House President & CEO Claude B. Meyers. “He is respected by his colleagues from other agencies and by the audit staff at ACS. The demands of this department have grown significantly as audits have become a way of life for governmental bodies. The challenges ahead are enormous but I know Mr. Carlson will use his talents to ensure Abbott House remains a premier human services agency.” |
