On March 9, 2009, John Tynan Sr., Director, Catholic Charities Progress of People’s Development Corporation (the housing affiliate of Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens) was honored by the New York State Council of Catholic Charities Directors with the Bishop Francis J. Mugavero Award for significant and sustained contribution to the work of charity in social justice on a statewide level.

Bishop Howard J. Hubbard of Albany presented John Tynan, Sr. with the prestigious Mugavero Award at a reception recently held at the New York State Catholic Conference in Albany.

Catholic Charities Progress of People’s Development Corporation, one of the largest providers of affordable housing in New York City, provides 3,000 units of housing for low-income seniors, families, and the formerly homeless throughout Brooklyn and Queens.
