| Harlem RBI Breaks Its Own Record with $1.5 Million at Bids for Kids |

More than 650 supporters turned out and helped Harlem RBI set a new record by raise $1.5 million at its Bids for Kids spring gala yesterday. The event, which was held at Cipriani’s 42nd Street, honored Major League Baseball’s Executive Vice President of Business, Tim Brosnan.
Additionally, Starr International Foundation presented a $250,000 grant to Harlem RBI. KPMG & Major League Baseball announced their annual “Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities” college scholarship recipients as the night kicks off during the VIP/Press Reception.
“We are excited to honor Tim Brosnan as he and MLB have been involved with Harlem RBI locally and RBI programs nationally,” said Richard Berlin, executive Director of Harlem RBI. “We are incredibly thankful to have the support of The Starr Foundation, KPMG and so many individuals, foundations and businesses, particularly given the challenges of the economic climate.”
Bob DuPuy, President and Chief Operating Officer, Major League Baseball, and Daniel M. Healy, Chairman, Herald National Bank served as event co-charis. Thomas B. Michaud, Vice Chairman & President, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc. and John Scotti, Owner, Team Scotti, will serve as event Vice Chairs.
Last year Harlem RBI honored Chancellor Joel Klein and Brian Cashman, General Manager, New York Yankees. The 2008 gala raised more than $1.1 million.
