The Jawonio Cranio-Facial Clinic in New City has been honored by the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NYSSLHA) with a Distinguished Clinical Service award. The Distinguished Clinical Service Award is awarded to clinical service programs in audiology and/or speech-language pathology that have contributed significantly and substantially to the clinical care of communicatively impaired individuals on a continuing basis. The award was presented at the recent NYSSLHA annual convention in Saratoga Springs, NY.
The Jawonio Cranio-Facial Clinic’s multidisciplinary team provides services that include assessment and management recommendations for children and adults with many craniofacial anomalies and syndromes. They assist families in investigating and determining treatment options and provide time lines for appropriate interventions. Families are guided to quality professional services within their neighborhoods and direction is given to their treating clinicians regarding innovative techniques.
The multidisciplinary team consists of a craniofacial speech physiologist, a world renowned craniofacial plastic surgeon, orthodontists, pediatric dentists, maxillo-facial surgeons and the speech pathology staff of the Jawonio Center.
“Rockland’s best kept secret, is a secret no more,” said Jawonio CEO Jill Warner. “This is a wonderful testament to the dedication of our speech department and world-renowned clinicians who are part of the history of Jawonio. The clinic does not just change smiles, we change lives, and we thank NYSSLHA for recognizing this extraordinary team effort.”
“The Jawonio Cranio-Facial Clinic maintains a strong and exemplary commitment to provide state of the art care and guidance to people with special needs and respects the importance of each individual,” said NYSSLHA President Theresa Massimi. “It is a distinct honor and pleasure to award this group The Distinguished Clinical Service award.”
