Bruce Anderson will serve as Interim Executive Director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City following the departure of Richard Burns. Burns recently announced his plans to leave in February to become Chief Operating Officer at the Arcus Foundation. Anderson, the President of the Center’s Board, will assume the position of Interim Executive Director effective on February 4. Anderson is a former Deputy Director of Gay Men¹s Health Crisis (GMHC) and is trained as a social worker. “The Center is an incredibly vibrant, stimulating hub for the LGBT community in and around New York City,” said Anderson said. “I am eager to work with the very talented staff and my fellow Board members during this time to ensure that the quality of programs and services remains as high as it has always been, and to also ensure that our fundraising efforts continue to provide the Center with the resources it needs to thrive.”The Center¹s Board of Directors will be conducting a national search for Burns’ successor through the firm of Philips Oppenheim. |
