Capobianco New Executive Director at Catalog for Giving NYC PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 04 March 2010 14:42

Mike Capobianco has been named Executive Director for The Catalog for Giving of New York City.

Capobianco comes to The Catalog from New Leaders for New Schools, where he was National Director. His experience also includes a blend of skills developed in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors at Scantron Corporation, Technology Solutions Corporation, and Per Scholas, an organization that utilizes technology to help transform the lives of low-income families.

“I first became involved with The Catalog five years ago when I was the Director of Strategic Partnerships of Computers for Youth (CFY), a member organization at the time,” says Capobianco.  “With the help of The Catalog, CFY has gone on to serve thousands of schoolchildren in New York City and across the country. As Executive Director, I’m looking forward to mentoring professionals in the field and sharing my significant experience while providing the leadership to deepen The Catalog’s positive impact on the New York City community.”

The mission of The Catalog for Giving is to transform the lives of New York City children and teens whose opportunities are severely limited by poverty, crime, drugs and violence. The Catalog identifies emerging local organizations and designates funds to support their efforts.  Expenses of The Catalog for Giving are fully funded by its board of directors, thus 100 percent of donations support the featured organizations and the young people they serve. Since its inception in 1994, The Catalog has raised over $10 million for its programs and helped transform the lives of nearly 150,000 children across the five boroughs.

Capobianco holds an undergraduate degree in business administration from Towson University in Towson, Maryland and an MPA from Baruch College in New York City.
