Gentile to Succeed Broderick as Acting Associate Commissioner PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 09 December 2009 13:45

Jill Gentile will be assuming the duties as Acting Associate Commissioner for Region 2 upon Kathy Broderick’s departure in February, giving her responsibility for the Bernard Fineson, Brooklyn,  Hudson Valley, Long Island, Metro NY, Staten Island, and Taconic DDSO’s.

Gentile has served as Director of the Hudson Valley DDSO, effective September 18, 2008.  She came to OMRDD with 27 years of experience serving individuals with disabilities in a multitude of service delivery areas.

Gentile was formerly Director of Programs and Services for Ability Beyond Disability, a Mt. Kisco, New York agency.  In that capacity, she was responsible for comprehensive service delivery in New York State across two districts as the organization expanded services from Connecticut to New York.  She facilitated the organizational direction and implementation of future service delivery programs, administered operating and capital budgets for all program areas, and supervised a team of management and professional staff responsible for the day to day operations of all program areas.

At the same time, Michael Kirchmer will be taking over as Acting Director of the Hudson Valley DDSO.  Kirchmer has been Deputy Director at the Hudson Valley DDSO since October 2008, managing the DDSO’s entire state-operated residential program, including the Family Care program, covering Orange, Rockland, Sullivan and Westchester Counties.  Prior to his appointment as deputy, Kirchmer had been in leadership roles at Hudson Valley overseeing community supports and state operations.  He has been with the Hudson Valley DDSO since 1982.
