It’s August and people are thinking baseball – at least people in the nonprofit world. Several recent and upcoming programmatic and fundraising events are featuring partnerships with local teams.
Yesterday was “Amazin” for Habitat for Humanity New York City yesterday when four legends from the 1969 World Champion Mets turned out to help complete a four-story condominium complex in Brooklyn. Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman, Ed Kranepool and Joe Pignatano joined Citi and Habitat-NYC homeowner families as they neared completion of the multi-unit condominium building at 2331 Atlantic Avenue, in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Another Habitat build will take place this weekend at CitiField as volunteers frame out a “house in a box” to provide a home that will be located upstate.
HeartShare Human Services of New York will host “HeartShare Night at KeySpan Park” for a Brooklyn Cyclones game on August 24th. The agency will benefit from 25% or more of ticket purchases, which run $15 for a Field Box and $8 for General Admission.
