FSW Takes Over Echo Hills Community Counseling Center PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 15 May 2012 02:30

Family Services of Westchester has assumed operation of Echo Hills Community Counseling Center in Hastings-on-Hudson, adding a seventh family treatment center to its roster of office locations throughout Westchester County.

“Phelps Memorial Hospital was treating about 80 adults mostly through group therapy sessions at Echo Hills and recently opted out of outpatient care at this location,” explains Polly Kerrigan, Senior Vice President of Mental Health at FSW. “Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health asked our agency if we would take on these patients,” Kerrigan adds.

“We are really enthusiastic about serving residents in this part of the county,” adds Monica Rickenberg, Director of Echo Hills. The office will have three social workers on site as well as a psychiatrist on a weekly basis. The office will also house FSW’s Aftercare program, which helps adolescents aging out of foster care or group homes reunifiy with their families and/or move on to independent living.

Family Services of Westchester hopes to reach out to residents in the surrounding areas, like Yonkers and Dobbs Ferry, and expand the number and range of people treated to include children, adolescents and families as well as adults for one-on-one therapy. Most insurance policies, including Medicare and Medicaid, are accepted.

Echo Hills Community Counseling Center is located at 78 Main Street, Hastings, NY 10706. The phone number is (914) 274-8334. For more information about the facility, contact Monica Rickenberg at mrickenburg@fsw.org.

I had been going to Echo Hills for years, three or four phychiatrist came & left. When Dr. Johnson retired I could no longer endure the superior attitude of the staff. I have a mental health issue that does not go away. I am not a drug addict but a productive working person who can not report to appointments that were during my work hours. This seemed foreign to new workers at Echo Hills. For two years I endured a redicious series of psychiatrist. I finally decided to try Echo Hills. What a gift from God to find a new agency handling patients. I finally have the feeling I have come home. I look forward to my appointments not dread walking through the door. I hope they keep up the good work & get the word out to the community about there much needed services.
