JBFCS took to the streets of Westchester in its Third Annual Hudson Valley Bike Ride on July 17th. So far, the event has raised more than $525,000 and donations are still coming in. Riders of all ages and skill levels participated, with three different trails—62-, 25-, and 10-mile excursions through the scenic paths of Putnam County available.

The ride started and ended at the Westchester campus of JBFCS, which houses residential treatment facilities and day treatment centers for youth at risk as well as specialized schools for teenagers and adolescents needing special education. Entertainment was provided by a first ever Battle of the Bands. More than 30 bands submitted demo videos to compete for one of three spots in the ultimate battle for musical supremacy. The Kind took home the first prize followed by Out of Nowhere and Imaginary Friends.

The money raised from this fundraiser will help offset a portion of the philanthropic need JBFCS has for the upcoming fiscal year. Like all human services agencies, JBFCS has been hit by the state and city budget cuts.
